Day 1 of Android Training Session -
Getting started (Android Training Session)
As part of getting started session, we shall be covering Software Environment
setup in individual participants machine.
Software Environment setting up includes:
Installation of Android SDK, Eclipse IDE, Android Plugin for respective Eclipse version.
Creating a HelloWorld/basic application using Android Plugin and verifying
whether various installed software works for a minimal basic application.
Walking through DDMS from Android Plugin for Eclipse IDE.
Walking through various auto-generated files from the HelloWorld Android Project
created in Eclipse workspace.
Android Activity and its Lifecycle (Android Training Session)
We shall be covering fundamentals of Android Activity and its lifecycle callback
method. This is required to understand how an Application deployed on Android
Platform created, start, stop, restart, pause, resume, getting destroyed.
Day 2 of Android Training Session -
Components/Widgets and Layouts with usage of Resources (Android Training Session)
We shall be covering most of the components/Widgets available from Android's API. Basic
Widgets like TextView, EditText, Button, Checkbox, RadioButton. Layouts such as
LinearLayout, RelativeLayout, FrameLayout, TableLayout, TableRow and AbsoluteLayout etc.
Composite Widgets and Images and Media widgets
We shall be covering composite widgets from Android API, such as
ListView, ExpandableListView, TwoLineListItem, GridView, ScrollView, SlidingDrawer,
TabHost, TabWidget etc.
Using images and Media contents such as video streaming, music streaming etc, using
various widgets from Android API, such as ImageView, ImageButton, Gallery, MediaController
VideoView etc.
Day 3 of Android Training Session -
Creating Menus (Submenus and Context Menus), Dialogs, Notifications, Toast, Status-Bars
Events and Listeners and handlers
Intents, Intent Filters and it's Broadcasters and Receivers
Content Providers and exploring storage facilities such as internal database SQLite
Using Files, storing preferences, and state of application
Basic Hardware Sensors and corresponding Managers
Using communication mediums such as Telephony, SMS, in-built XML,JSON parsers along with
Webservices, HTTP etc.
