In this tutorial we shall be covering Android's Gradient and Shape API with the help
of an example.

Final screen of this Images Merge example would look like the below image:
















In the following section I shall be covering through various files I coded/used
to get this example working. This example has only two views such as two ImageView
and Shape from Android API.

Following is the main layout of this example.

main.xml

    android:layout_height="fill_parent"

      android:layout_width="wrap_content" 
      android:layout_height="wrap_content" 
      android:src="@drawable/img1"
      android:background="@layout/background"/>
    <View android:layout_width="160dp" 
          android:background="@layout/background"
          android:layout_height="83dp"/>
    <ImageView 
      android:layout_width="wrap_content" 
      android:layout_height="wrap_content" 
      android:src="@drawable/img2"
      android:background="@layout/background"/>
    
</LinearLayout>



Following file background.xml will have the color effect in form of
shape as rectangle and gradient to merge colors from Green to Red color.
Due to this effect it is shown as some different images gets merged and
tranformed.

     

Gets merged as shown below:

Above source code is just to accomplish this example and get it working as
soon as possible.

Gradient and Shape tags from Android API can be used as it is as I have
shown in the source code above.

One can try out many interesting image and effects using something like this
example.
